How do I find a garden centre near me in the UK?

Use the search tool at the top of this page — simply type your town, city, or postcode and choose a search radius (5, 10, 25, or 50 miles). The map will display verified garden centres near you with ratings, phone numbers, opening times, and directions, making it easy to find the right garden centre in your local area.

What are typical UK garden centre opening times?

Most UK garden centres open Monday to Saturday from around 9:00am to 5:30pm. Sunday hours are typically shorter, usually 10:00am to 4:30pm. Opening times vary by location, season, and bank holidays. Use our directory to check the exact opening times for any garden centre near you before you visit.

Are garden centres open on Sundays in the UK?

Yes, most UK garden centres are open on Sundays, typically between 10:00am and 4:30pm. However, hours can vary by location and season. You can check Sunday opening times for any specific garden centre using our directory search — simply find your nearest centre and view its current opening hours.

What is the difference between a garden centre and a plant nursery in the UK?

A plant nursery in the UK specialises in growing and selling plants, seeds, and young trees, often wholesale or trade. A garden centre is a retail destination offering a broader range — plants, compost, tools, outdoor furniture, and sometimes a cafe or gift shop. Our directory covers both garden centres and specialist plant nurseries across the UK.

What can I buy at a UK garden centre?

UK garden centres typically sell bedding plants, shrubs, trees, seeds, bulbs, compost, fertilisers, garden tools, pots, outdoor furniture, and seasonal items such as Christmas trees. Many also have a cafe, pet supplies section, and gift department. Stock varies by season, so it is best to check with your local garden centre directly.
